Allison Carroll (MBA ’05) is SVP of customer success at Avalara, a $1 billion global tax-compliance software company whose mission is to make customers' lives easier by simplifying and automating taxes. Specifically, Carroll leads all post-sales functions including onboarding, professional services, technical support, customer account management and renewals. She manages an $800 million P&L with 700+ technical and sales experts in five countries supporting 30,000 customers globally. She joined Avalara in 2020 after 20 years with IBM where she was vice president of customer success for IBM Cloud.

Allison earned her MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler in the Weekend Executive MBA program. She earned her undergraduate degree from Meredith College. She is a North Carolina native and lives in Raleigh.

Paul Wolff, EdD is a highly motivated educator and leader, Paul Wolff is dedicated to improving higher education. His background in systems analysis and user interface design led to the development and implementation of numerous online tools and systems for the Housing Department, Student Affairs, and Digital and Lifelong Learning at UNC Chapel Hill. Currently Paul leads the Faculty Consulting Group at Kenan-Flagler Business School.  In this role, he and his team help faculty create engaging educational content and learning experiences for the students at Kenan-Flagler. More than anything, Paul is a lifelong learner who strives to improve his practice whenever possible. Paul is an adjunct faculty member at both the University of Florida and UNC Chapel Hill. His research interests include gamification, digital badging, workplace motivation, learning management systems, mobile device use in education, augmented reality, and generative artificial intelligence.

Paul received his Master of Arts in Teaching in 2003 and his Master of Science in Information Science in 2011, both from UNC Chapel Hill. Paul went on to earn his Doctorate in Educational Technology in 2017 from the University of Florida. As the chair of the Emerging Technology Committee at Kenan-Flagler, Paul was instrumental in rolling out an enterprise Generative AI solution for the school. Working with Cloudforce and Microsoft, along with Georgia Allen, the CIO at Kenan-Flagler, Paul helped launch BlueChip, an AI platform with access to over 2,000 Large Language Models. Paul has built over 25 AI agents within this platform to benefit the school and has led training efforts to increase AI literacy among faculty, staff and students.

Monica Tomasso (MBA ’05) is Founder and CEO of Monic AI Systems, an AI consultancy helping mid-market businesses get found by LLMs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, etc) She discovered this problem by accident: while consulting on AI automation, business owners kept asking why they were invisible to ChatGPT and Claude. That signal became her business. With 20+ years in digital transformation at Fortune 500 companies (ExxonMobil, BP), combined with three founder exits, Monica brings both enterprise expertise and startup scrappiness to solving a visibility problem 99% of SMBs don't know they have yet. She's an OpenAI SMB Channel Partner.
