For the month of June, we will feature Elizabeth Dickinson, KFBS Clinical Assoc. Prof of Management & Corp Communication. Elizabeth teaches workplace communication and diversity/inclusion courses. She is interested in figuring out how to facilitate connection and have difficult conversations about and across difference.

From an interdisciplinary, humanities approach, her teaching and research focus on workplace communication; diversity, equity and inclusion; gender and organizations; gender and parenting; critical management studies; and how cultural ideologies are produced, consumed, performed, hidden and resisted through communication.

Dr. Dickinson is a diversity and inclusion specialist and educator for students, staff and faculty within UNC Kenan-Flagler and across the University.

Numerous academic outlets have published her award-winning research. She also has won teaching, and mentoring awards. In 2016, she received the Carolina Women’s Center Faculty Scholar Fellowship, where she conducted research about how business schools manage diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Dickinson has experience in corporate, nonprofit, business and academic environments, and she has international experience working and living in Japan, China and the Netherlands.
